JODY MELTZER

Jody is the firm's most experienced estate, gift and generation-skipping planning paralegal including the ability to draft documents necessary to carry out such planning. Jody received her Associate Arts Degree in Secretarial Administration as well as receiving a Certificate of Specialization in Word Processing and Legal secretarial courses. Jody has also attended paralegal studies at the University of West Los Angeles. Jody will celebrate her 25th anniversary with the firm in June 2001. 30 plus years of drafting estate, gift and generation-skipping planning documents makes her an invaluable member of our staff.

 

PAULA M. STERN

Paula has worked in the legal profession since 1980. She has extensive experience in corporate and civil litigation and now specializes exclusively in probate and post mortem trust administration in a paralegal capacity. Paula is experienced in the preparation of Federal and State Estate tax returns, and Federal Gift and Generation Skipping transfer returns. Paula's experience with the firm (and its predecessor in interest) is in excess of 10 years. She received a Certificate of Specialization in legal secretarial courses from Pierce College, and a Certificate of Completion from the Legal Secretarial Training Course offered by the Beverly Hills Bar Association.


KATHY F. MEANS

Kathy has over fifteen years of office administration, bookkeeping, time keeping, billing administration, accounts receivable records maintenance and collection experience with the firm. Kathy received two years of education and training at Valley College in the San Fernado Valley. Kathy primarily handles all aspects of the firm billing and accounts receivables. 

KEVIN L. ALPERSTEIN

Kevin graduated from the University of the Pacific in 1981, with a BA in Economics. Kevin worked as a pension administrator from 1984 to 1992 and then took 10 years off to raise his four children. Kevin joined the Firm in 2002, and studied paralegal courses online through Cal State Dominquez Hills (Legal Studies Online), obtaining his paralegal certificate in May of 2008. Kevin works in various fields for the Firm, including LPS conservatorships, corporate formations and annual reporting, office management and systems administration. He also is responsible for the day to day operation of the firm's Z Pooled Trust, a pro bono pooled special needs trust.

Debra earned her Bachelor of Science, from Marist College, New York in May 2005 graduating, Summa Cum Laude and obtained her Paralegal Certification, Marist College, New York, January 2004 distinguishing herself on Dean’s List 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, and 2005, Alpha Chi National Honor Society and Alpha Sigma Lambda National Honor Society. Debra has experience in commercial litigation, working independently in the preparation of pleadings, pretrial, trial and post trial motions, conducting research and analysis on factual issues for discovery and investigations.

Laura Klein joined our Firm in 2011 and earned her paralegal certification from California State University Dominguez Hills in 2012.  Laura attended UCLA for two years prior to transferring to Franklin College in Lugano, Switzerland, where she completed her international studies and earned her degree.
